Narayan Nagabali Puja

Two pujas combine to form Narayan Nagabali Puja. In which Nagbali Puja and Narayan Bali Puja are included. As part of Narayan Nagbali Puja, both of these pujas are performed together. One of our ancestors died for unknown reasons, which explains why this worship is practiced. The name of the person or the pronunciation of the gotra is forbidden due to the fact that these ancestors wander among the people of death. Hence, this puja can only be performed around Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga. The Jyotirlingas represent the awakened forms of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh.



A Nagabali Puja is performed when a person dies unexpectedly without being aware of it. It is then mentioned in the scriptures that Narayan Bali puja should be performed for the sake of one's self-peace. When you perform shradh instead of this puja,

In Nagabali, snake dosha is removed through ritual. There are various problems associated with snake dosh, including phlegm, gall, wind, fever, itching, and abdominal symptoms.

In Trimbakeshwar, the Narayan Nagbali Puja is an important puja for the peace of the ancestors' souls. Narayan Nagbali Puja is performed to remove pitrudosh. In the event of the death of a member of a person's family for the following reasons, his soul does not find peace; as a result of



A person can get death in any way. Such as:

- The lightning may have fallen on the body

- Falling from a mountain or

- If there is an accident

- Drowning in water

- Falling from a tree or a height

- By the attack of animals.

- Due to suicide.

- Being murdered.

- He must have died of fire.

- If there is death due to shock.

- Must have died of starvation.

- If he died of a curse.

- If there is a death due to epidemics such as corona, cholera (plaque).


In this situation, the desires of the person remain unfulfilled. The soul of the person gets peace through Narayan Nagbali Puja. According to their karma, they get the next birth or salvation.



A person's soul wanders on the earth if he is not cremated, shradh, and tarpan after death. This defect persists from generation to generation, causing great suffering to descendants born into such families. Nagbali puja removes Pitradosh Narayana and Bali puja removes the defect caused by killing a snake.



Why should Narayan Nagbali worship?

Nagbali Puja is performed to cleanse oneself of the sin of killing Nagas. Nagas are killed when someone kills them or assists in their killing. A person like this has to deal with many problems. To find satisfaction from this sin, such a person should perform Nagbali Puja.



Narayan Nagbali Puja takes three days. Which religious activities are carried out as follows.


The shradhkar has to bathe in the Kushavarta shrine and wear new clothes.

Men should wear dhotis, and kurtas, and women should wear white sarees.

A man can perform this ritual alone but a woman cannot do it alone.

Take the resolution of worship and then do the trust. After that, the Kalash is installed.

Guruji Sri Vishnu and Yama are worshipped while installing the Kalash.

Shradhkarmas are performed by doing Vishnu Tarpan as well as Pranpratishtha, Agniasthapana, and Purushasukta Havana.

On the last day of the puja, Lord Ganesha is worshipped and thanked for carrying out all the pujas smoothly.

Golden images of nagas are worshipped.

Guruji is given a daan-dakshina.

The last rites are performed by darshan and worship of Shri Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga and then the puja is concluded.
